Formed in 1995, QA Software is an industry veteran with a history of strong and stable growth. The original founding directors, Steven Joustra and Russell Mortimer, are still with the company today, having shepherded it to international growth with a network of consultants and e-business partners throughout Australia, Asia, and Europe. Today, we have offices with sales and support staff in Melbourne, Canberra, Jakarta, Colombo (Sri Lanka), London, Dallas and Omaha.

A History of QA Software’s Products

QTRAK for Correspondence Management was released in late 1997 to complement the document control features of QDMS with correspondence management. A number of niche products followed, including the QTIME Timesheet and labour costing system which powers the timesheet collection and productivity analysis on many projects in Australia today.

In early 2000, QA Software harnessed the power of the Web to provide online systems. This resulted in the release of WebDocsPro and TeamBinder, our collaborative project information management systems for the engineering and construction industry.

Steven is co-founder of QA Software.

With CEO Russell Mortimer, Steven grew the organisation to an industry leader with offices in Australia, Sri Lanka, the USA and UK and thousands of global customers in areas spanning major infrastructure, commercial, building, oil, gas and other construction projects.

Steven and Russell have extensive practical engineering experience with diverse knowledge of the Construction and Engineering industry and have incorporated their combined 40-year working knowledge into QA Software.

As QA Software’s first Regional Director (Asia and Europe), Steven is now the General Manager International Operations, a role which makes him singularly responsible for the development and growth of the sales division and reseller chain, making the company a global leader in document collaboration and control.

One of QA Software’s key implementation specialists, Zafar has a deep understanding of TeamBinder and its benefit to clients and is well-placed in the role of Client Engagement.

Zafar’s knowledge across the company’s range of products ensures that clients’ requirements are met to optimum standards through product implementation leading into the client engagement process – post implementation.

Zafar’s extensive experience as an ICT Advisor with KPMG and previously as a business analyst provides him with a broad perspective on business operations. His degree in Information Systems and certification as an Information Systems Auditor and Systems Security Professional ensure Zafar is also able to contribute to the development of solutions in complex and demanding implementation and system configuration consultation processes.

Emmanuel de Zylva comes from a pedigree of Engineering excellence. He is an accomplished Mechanical Engineer working from the age of 15 in his father’s engineering consultancy business followed by four years at LendLeaseWJP Solutions, a role he took on soon after his graduation from Charles Darwin University.

Emmanuel moved to QA software four years ago as a Business Development Manager and has recently taken on the role of Manager, Sales where he works closely with the COO, Rob Bryant and, CEO Russell Mortimer in creating opportunities for the sales teams as well as ensuring the highest levels of customer service for QA Software’s client base.

Emmanuel’s life tenets are relationships, experience and health. He believes trust is the foundation of all aspects of his personal and professional life and, in the relationships he creates with clients and his team, valuing each person’s ability to deliver.

He also cites as critical – having the experience with the solutions that are provided as well as the organisation with which you are dealing. In addition he says: ‘The product that is being delivered needs to be in sync with the relationships that you create and the experience that you bestow on clients ’.

Having practised for two decades as an engineer,QA Software co-founder Russell Mortimer brings to the role of CEO a hands-on, practical working knowledge of the Construction and Engineering industry.

With offices in Australia, Sri Lanka, the USA and UK, Russell and his partner, Steven Joustra manage a team of more than 80 staff and oversee all aspects of the company’s operations from R&D and Global Customer Service to Sales and Marketing.

Russell is passionate about the company’s work in the construction industry assisting customers to implement and reap the benefits from all QA Software leading edge applications.

In his role as CEO, Russell also focuses on the company’s day-to-day technical operations taking an active role in enhancing existing software and overseeing the development of innovative new products.

As Chief Technical Officer, Sivaram’s role at QA Software is one that is borne from a high-level of technical prowess.

A key member of the organisation for 14 years, Sivaram is the mastermind behind the accessibility, functionality and ease of use for which QA Software products are renowned.

He was involved in the initial research phase for the launch of the company’s innovative product, TeamBinder, investigating new technologies to determine how best to design the software with user-friendliness foremost in his mind.

At QA Software, Sivaram focuses on devising simple yet highly effective solutions that are the cornerstone of the TeamBinder experience. Working closely with the Directors, Sivaram finds innovation both encouraging and fulfilling.

Technical Development Manager Asela Goonatilleke joined QA Software in 2000 and his expertise in software technology has grown alongside that of the company.

After graduating with a diploma in Computer Studies in Sri Lanka, Asela commenced a trainee programming position with QA Software’s Sri Lankan branch of operations where he worked for six years before being seconded to the QA team in Australia.

Asela is closely aligned to the development of QA Software’s leading product, TeamBinder, having been among the first to work on the product’s implementation and ensuring its ease of use, receiving ongoing acknowledgement from the company’s customer base as to its efficacy.

Business Development Manager

The Role

To support our rapid growth we are seeking experienced solution sales professionals to join our business development team based in our Melbourne head office. Key duties of the role include:

  • Develop, and deliver against a sales plan
  • Proactively identifying leads to generate prospects
  • Respond to allocated leads
  • Tailor and deliver presentations and demonstrations in person or over the web in conjunction with technical support
  • Price, tailor and deliver proposals
  • Negotiate and close deals
  • Ensuring post sale handover activities are completed prior to implementation.

You will be focused on proactively delivering new business by identifying new accounts as well as developing business through allocated inbound enquiry.

About You

You are able to demonstrate sales success in one of the following fields; SaaS, Online information services, BI software, advanced IT solutions.

In your application you must be able to present evidence to meet the following key selection criteria:

  • Proven track record of measurable new business success
  • Minimum of 2 years B2B relevant sales experience
  • Identify decision makers and build rapport
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to present
  • Be sales process driven with a structured approach to pipeline building
  • Be a self-starter, motivated and tenacious in pursuing opportunities.

In return for your contribution to the team and the business we are offing an attractive package consisting of a base salary and un-capped commissions.
